An awareness programme on breast cancer, organized by the East Coast Railway in association with Utkal Hospital, Bhubaneswar, dwelt on key aspects of breast cancer.

Topics discussed included high-risk groups, epidemiology, symptoms, and various diagnostic techniques including self-examination of breast, mammography, ultrasound, AI-guided Thermal Scan, Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC), and biopsy.

Dr. Sanjib Kumar Mishra, Radiation Oncologist, Utkal Hospital, Bhubaneswar, speaking at the awareness programme emphasized the importance of lifestyle modification, early detection, and timely treatment for improved prognosis.

The programme was attended, among others, by Parmeshwar Funkwal, General Manager, East Coast Railway, along with the Principal Chief Medical Director, Medical Director, Central Hospital/Bhubaneswar, senior officers and women employees.

As part of the awareness drive, an AI-guided Thermal Scan screening for breast health was conducted for 46 women employees.
